Turkey dinner is Oct. 12
BRIDGEPORT — St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church will host its annual turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at St. Anthony’s School Hall at 630 Main St. in Bridgeport. Meals will be available for dine-in or carryout. There will be raffles, a 50/50 drawing and gift baskets as well.
Annual meeting slated
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The annual Belmont County Township Trustee Meeting,
sponsored by the Belmont County Engineer’s Office, will be held Oct. 23 at the William Wise Building at the Belmont County Fairgrounds, 45300 Roscoe Road, St. Clairsville. BELLAIRE — East Ohio Regional Wastewater Authority is having a special board of trustees meeting at 8 a.m. Tuesday at 6000 N. Guernsey St., Bellaire. The meeting will go directly into executive session to discuss personnel matters.

Roads to close
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Richland Township will make repairs to Ebbert Road (TR 219) beginning Oct. 13. The slip is at the south end near Willow Grove Road.
No through traffic will be permitted during the construction period. The closure is estimated to last 30-45 days.
UL board to meet
BELMONT — The Union Local Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Oct. 16 in the high school Learning Center. Superintendent Zach Shutler will be available prior to the board meeting, from 4-5 p.m., to answer questions regarding the proposed levy.
Methodist Ridge repairs planned
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Repair of a Methodist Ridge Road (Richland Township Road 281) slip is scheduled to begin Oct. 20. The slip is located approximately 1/4 mile from Belmont County Road 5 (Glencoe Road).
This will be a complete closure during the construction period. Estimated closure will be 45-60 days. Alan Stone Company has been awarded the contract. The project cost is $1,038,000 with 75% funding from Ohio Emergency Management Agency. The Richland Township trustees ask for patience during the construction period.
Nighttime work underway at exit 208
BELMONT — The Ohio Department of Transportation’s contractor is performing nighttime work on Interstate 70 westbound at exit 208 (Ohio 149) to prepare for an upcoming interchange improvement project.
Crews will fill rumble strips and install barrier walls to support traffic during construction. Work will take several weeks, occurring overnight only, with one lane open at all times.
I-70 to be restricted
MORRISTOWN — A project to repair a 5-mile section of concrete along Interstate 70 from the Belmont/Guernsey county line to just east of the I-70 rest areas is underway.
The contractor will complete this work during nighttime hours. Lane closures will be utilized during construction from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The completion date is Oct. 31.
