At 10:49 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that a male was trying to break in at an address on Washington Street in Bellaire. A unit was out with the male and took him into custody. This was some type of disagreement, according to the report, which stated that Bellaire police were handling the call.
At 10:25 p.m. Thursday, deputies were out assisting Bellaire police with a domestic situation at an address on Taney Avenue in Bellaire. Parties were separated, according to the report.
At 9:25 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Hanover Street in Martins Ferry issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for loud exhaust.
At 9:12 p.m. Thursday, a caller from Colerain advised the structure of a house was not stable and occupants were still inside after a vehicle crashed into the house and caught on fire.
At 8:45 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for reckless operation.
At 8:21 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Guernsey Street in Bellaire issued a written warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags. The registered owner of the vehicle was deceased, the report noted.
At 6:36 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out with a disabled vehicle on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville near Chipotle. The Ohio driver appeared to have run out of gas.
At 5:42 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out with a vehicle on Interstate 70 exit 225 in Bridgeport. The vehicle appeared to be disabled, but the female driver was reportedly getting a spider out of the car. All was good, according to the report.
At 3:56 p.m. Thursday, a caller from Patterson Hill Road in Bellaire reported that her father called her screaming, and she wanted it documented. An officer advised her on how to go about filing for a civil protection order. She was advised to contact law enforcement if threats were ever made or if he came to her residence.
At 2:27 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Second Street in Bethesda reported that a deer in his yard needed to be put down. A deputy responded and reported that the fawn was put down.
At 12:51 p.m. Thursday, the principal of the Belmont Career Center turned over three vape devices found on three students on separate occasions. The school resource officer took the devices and marked them for disposal. All three students were given disciplinary plans – no criminal charges.
At 9:47 a.m. Thursday, an emergency medical service squad requested a deputy at a location on Pines Street in Martins Ferry for a report of a female yelling for help. A deputy responded. Two doors were forced open, according to the report, which stated that the female was going with the EMS, and the residence was secured as best it could be. Family members were taking care of the issue, according to the report.
At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, a deputy was at an address on Goshen Township attempting to serve a warrant. One male was detained and was taken to jail.
At 9:09 a.m. Thursday, an officer was at Dunham’s at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville following up on a theft that occurred on Wednesday. A statement was obtained. The stolen crossbow was recovered at a pawn shop, according to the report. A sergeant spoke with the prosecutor’s office to obtain permission to photograph the crossbow and return it to Dunham’s.
