At 10:56 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 westbound near exit 208 in Morristown issued a warning to a Pennsylvania truck driver for speeding.
At 10:16 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 west near the exit 208 ramp in Morristown issued a warning to a Missouri truck driver for speeding. The driver reportedly had an active warrant out of Florida, but the jurisdiction was out of pickup range, the report indicated.
At 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on High Ridge Road in Bridgeport reported that his neighbor was burning roofing material behind the house. An officer responded and reported that no fire was seen and nothing smelled of smoke in the area.
At 7:22 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant assisted Bridgeport Police at an address on Kennon Street in Bridgeport with attempting to locate a 17-year-old female runaway.
At 6:19 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant was notified that a caller from Scotch Pine Drive in the Whispering Pines Subdivision in St. Clairsville reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle overnight and stole some change. The caller did not want to see anyone, she just wanted to report it.
At 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, the Belmont County Jail reported that a 43-year-old male inmate possibly had “drugs in him” and that the “bag may have busted.” A deputy transported the subject to the emergency room at Trinity Hospital in St. Clairsville. He was returned to the jail.
At 3:46 a.m. Wednesday, an officer was out at High Ridge Road in St. Clairsville near Ohio Fireworks for a male in a truck who appeared to be sleeping. The male was taking a nap, according to the officer, who said the male went on his way.
At 2:57 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out at the Belmont County Jail responding to a report of drugs discovered in the jail. Rights were read to a suspect, the report indicated.
At 1 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a neighbor has an abandoned van on their land on Blaine-Chermont Road in Colerain, and the caller believed that someone may be living in it. A deputy responded. The vehicle reportedly had empty beer cans and blankets in the back. The deputy made contact with the owner of the vehicle. The owner said he did not want to press charges but stated that he did not want the male to be staying in the van any longer.
At 12:33 p.m. Wednesday, the principal from Union Local Elementary School reportedly got a call from a father of a student and wanted to speak to a deputy about threats. A deputy called the principal. No direct threats were made, according to the officer, who also called the father and checked on the child.
At 12:02 p.m. Wednesday, a caller who was selling a home requested a welfare check on the owner, a woman in her 80s who she could not get ahold of, at an address on Patterson Road in Brookside. A deputy responded and made contact with the woman. She was OK wand said she would be calling the realtor.
At noon on Wednesday, an administrator at the Belmont Career Center on Hammond Road in St. Clairsville advised that a student had nicotine patches. The administrator requested that the school resource officer conduct a search via a metal detector wand on the student. No other contraband was located, according to the report.

At 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, a male from East Captina Highway in Powhatan Point came to the station to speak to a deputy about his son stealing from him and threatening him.
