Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Ohio County
WHEELING — The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is announcing that a raccoon has tested positive for rabies. The raccoon was found along Route 88 near Tierra Estates in Ohio County. The raccoon was collected Monday and tested positive for rabies this week. This is the first laboratory-confirmed animal rabies case in Ohio County for 2026.
