Former assessor sentenced to 2-15 years for embezzlement

MOUNDSVILLE —Marshall County’s former assessor, Eric Buzzard, was sentenced to two consecutive prison sentences totalling two to 15 years for his embezzlement of money from the county’s coffers. The sentence was handed down Wednesday by Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Cramer. As part of his plea agreement, a third count with a prison term of 1-5 years was suspended and replaced with an order of seven years of probation to be served after the prison term. Three arrested on drug charges on Diamond Street

MOUNDSVILLE — Two women and a man were arrested on Diamond Street in Moundsville during the execution of a search warrant, said Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty.
