Weirton man arrested on child porn charges

WEIRTON —A Weirton man was arrested Monday on charges of possessing thousands of images of child pornography, the West Virginia State Police announced. James L. Capito, 76, has been arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of child pornography, according to the WVSP. The arrest came Monday following an ongoing investigation led by First Sgt. D.L. Stafford in coordination with the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. The investigation began on Feb. 12, 2025, when a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence. Ferry man charged with embezzlement

WHEELING — A Martins Ferry man was charged this week with eight counts of felony embezzlement, accused of funneling money into his personal bank account that was supposed to go to the local television station where he worked. John Arden Lynch II, 40, appeared before Ohio County Magistrate Janine Varner on Tuesday on those eight counts, according to court documents. He was released on $3,000 bond.
