CONNORVILLE —The Buckeye Local Junior High School Student Council is observing Red Ribbon Week to bring attention to the effects of drug, alcohol and tobacco use. Activities are set throughout the week of Oct. 27-31 and include themed dress-up days and regular highlights to help spread awareness among youth. BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT At 11:41 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Pike Street in Neffs issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for speeding. At 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant was assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a road rage complaint. The officer was out at an address on Liston Avenue in Bridgeport.
