ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office announced Richard Bradley Valentine was arrested Friday afternoon.

The 46-year-old is facing charges of rape, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and sexual battery. The charges stem from an investigation into the rape of a juvenile.

An arrest warrant was issued for Valentine earlier Friday afternoon due to his failure to appear for his arraignment in the Belmont County Court of Common Pleas.

Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack said Valentine was later arrested in Martins Ferry. He added that Valentine was in custody but had been taken to an area hospital following his arrest.

Valentine was listed on the Belmont County Jail roster Friday evening, which stated he was booked at 5:34 p.m. It noted that he was being held without bail.
