EARNEST WINE

Mr. Earnest Clifford “Cliff” Wine, 93, of Orlando, Gilmer County, WV, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew.

He was born in Orlando on October 26, 1925, a son of the late Frank and Frena Heath Wine.

For 74 years, Mr. Wine shared his life with his wonderful wife, Lorna Mick Wine. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wine were respected educators who lived and retired in St. Clairsville, OH before returning to the family farm in Orlando.

He served as a counselor and coordinator for Bellaire High School for several years before being promoted to and retiring as principal. Mr. Wine was also the vocational recruiter for Belmont High School students who wished to attend Belmont Career Center.

Mr. Wine is survived by his wife, Lorna; two children, Dwight Morgan Wine of Wheeling, WV, and Clearwarer, FL, and Patricia Sue Barr of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Kevin Ranson, Shonda Ranson, Arik Ranson, Alexa Hathaway and Matthew and Chris Wine; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Nicholas Ranson; six siblings, Dana Wine, Jean Blake and husband Faye, Dale Wine, Larry Wine, Richard Wine and wife Patty, and Lola Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Hackers Creek Road, Jane Lew, from 11:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, August 16, 2019. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Short officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton where full military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy and Lewis County Honor Guard.
