DONALD E. LEMMON

Donald Eugene “Don” Lemmon, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died April 21, 2022, in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1935, in Harrisville, Ohio, a son of the late John A. Lemmon and Ethel B. Seabright Lemmon.

Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had worked as a millwright for 22 years at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and then worked as a staff representative for the United Steel Workers of America for 20 years, and later was employed by Enterprise Rent-A- Car for 11 years. Don loved his country and served with honor in the U. S. Army, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 159. He was member of East Richland Friends Church, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, was a well-known jokester and was a staunch Democrat.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sondra Jane “Sandy” Van Dyne Lemmon; three children, Donna Jean (Terry James) Ashton, Susan (Dale) Folmar, and Van (Dr. Michael) Keleher; a brother, John A. (Sherry) Lemmon; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Ashton, Jason Michael Ashton, Bradley James Ashton, Stephanie Laura Jane Ashton, Tiffany Michelle Folmar, Scott Robert Folmar, and Carter Michael Keleher; and four great grandchildren, Cameron Ashton, Braxtyn Ashton, Trey Netter, and Tristan Netter.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove.

The Lemmon family would like to extend special thanks to home health nurse, Amanda Baker, the entire St. Clairsville Police and Fire Departments, and the Mayor of St. Clairsville for all of their support and kindness.
