VIVIAN WALKER
Vivian H. Walker (Boyd) was graciously escorted to Heaven on June 24, 2022 at the age of 95. She passed peacefully at the Vivian H. Walker Hospice House, under the direct care of her great-niece, Jessica Boyd-Abdel Jabar, EOLCS, CDD.
Born November 9, 1926 to George and Anna Boyd, of Shadyside, OH. She was the only sister to six brothers, Fred, Earl, Charles, Ben, Russ and George Boyd.
Vivi, to those who knew her, was a unique and caring person. She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years in Powhatan Point, OH, where she lived most of her life, married to the late Calvin W. Walker. She loved her neighbors and family, children, gardening, canning, playing games and music.
Vivian spent the last three years of her life in Columbus, OH, where she was surrounded by lots of love, affection and adventures alongside her much adored great-great nephew, Calvin E. Boyd-Abdel Jabar; great-niece, Jessie and husband Tayseer. She made several new friends during her time as a “city girl” and played a major role in the care that is given at the hospice house named after her. Things like singing old hymns, spending time holding a hand and lending a compliment of encouragement to the patients, came natural to her.
She will be remembered because of her wonderful and kind heart. Vivi always tried to help others when she could, and never asked for anything in return. She will be greatly missed.
Arrangements by Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes. There will be a graveside service held at the Armstrong Mills Cemetery, Powhatan Point, OH, on Wednesday June 29 at 11 a.m.
Vivi has asked for donations to be made to help others who may not be able to afford a private hospice care facility. Donation may be made to Vivian H. Walker Hospice House, 4329 Bennington Creek Lane, Groveport, OH, 43125, 614-674-8356, or online at Vivian H. Walker Hospice House at TMCFunding.com.
