BETTY THOMAS

Throughout her life, Betty was known for her unwavering dedication and nurturing spirit, especially evident in her work as a daycare provider in her own home. She was a devoted member of the BBHFC Hunting & Fishing Club and served as a Brownie Leader for the Girl Scouts, demonstrating her commitment to community and mentorship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Underwood and Bessie (Parker) Beck; her husband, Dorsey Thomas; and her siblings, Dorothy, Joann, Bill, Phillip, Bob and Herb Merritt, Dwaine and Keith Underwood.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Connie (Eric) Cumberlidge and Candie (Pat) VanCuren; grandchildren, Kenneth Victor Wiggins III, Summer Wiggins-Hecht, Dalton (Morgan) VanCuren, Chase (Amber) VanCuren, Katelynn (Jacob) Johnson, and Daniel VanCuren, as well as several great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, OH on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Betty’s grandson, Dalton VanCuren officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, OH.
