WILMA HANNAN
Wilma V. (McVay) Hannan, 88, of Powhatan Point Ohio passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025 at WVU Medicine, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale West Virginia.
Born on June 13, 1937, in Dillies Bottom, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ada Brown and Clifford McVay.
Wilma dedicated her life to nurturing her family and serving her community with grace and kindness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allan Hannan, Sr.
Throughout her years, Wilma found solace and strength in her faith, being an active attendee of the Powhatan Church of the Nazarene and later the Church Alive in Jacobsburg, Ohio. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she cherished the fellowship and spiritual growth she experienced among her church families.
Wilma also held fond memories of her time with the Powhatan Alumni Association, where she enjoyed connecting with friends and celebrating the shared history of her cherished hometown.
Survivors include her children; Rick (Pam) Hannan, Randy (Brandy) Hannan and Rhonda (Rob) Rineer, grandchildren; Jeramy (Lori) Hannan, Nicole (Damian K,) Cardona, Mandy (Erik) Hornbeck, Kara (Ryan) Cornish, Brittany (Mike) DeCrease, Katelyn (David) McIntyre, Alana (Ryan) Ramirez, Ryan (Brittany) Larson, and Idellia Baldwin, great grandchildren; Nicholas, Anthony, Abby, Baylee, Peyton, Eli, Tanner, Samantha, Korrine, Preston, Breasyn, Rylan, and Rhett, extended family, Kim Knellinger, many dear friends and family as well as her beloved feline companion, Marci.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point Ohio on Monday September 29, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Visitation will resume at the Funeral Home on Tuesday September 30, 2025 from 12pm until time of funeral service at 1pm with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating. Interment to immediately follow in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
