Gary Lee Wharton, 75, of Rayland, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born March 3, 1948, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late George and Irene (Papp) Wharton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Wharton Jr and Ron Wharton. Gary was employed with Sears for many years before retiring from Johnson Boiler Works and served the Village of Rayland for two years as Police Chief.
