Brian Curtis Vargo, 69 of Rayland formerly of Smithfield passed away Sun, December 11, 2022, at East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born June 12, 1953, the son of the late Edward C. and Elaine (Cika) Vargo. Brian was retired from the United Dairy in Martins Ferry as a Truck driver. He was a member of the St. Joe Church of Christ in Bellaire. Ruth Lewis, 96, of Adena, Ohio, passed away Wednesday December 14, 2022, at Harrison County Home. She was born November 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Willard and Edna Tank Hamlin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Lewis, son in law Jerry Hopkins and brother W.O. Hamlin. Dathan Derek McHugh, 46, a lifelong resident of Smithfield, OH, passed away suddenly Dec. 13, 2022. Dathan was born to Gerald Dale and Norma (Phillips) McHugh on Aug. 7, 1976. He was a 1995 graduate of Buckeye Local High School and was an assistant kitchen manager at Outback in St. Clairsville, OH.
