Stephen “Stubby” Vargo, 72, of Yorkville, OH, passed away, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Valley Hospice, Trinity West, in Steubenville, OH. He was born on February 7, 1954, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Steve and Louise (Stupak) Vargo-Phalen. Steve was Catholic by faith. He was employed with the Cardinal Operating Plant for 33 years before retirement in 2012. Frank E. Ellis, 77, formerly of Rush Run, passed away, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home, in Howard, OH. He was born on April 8, 1949, in Martins Ferry, OH, to the late Frank and Virginia (Bensie) Ellis Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Ellis and his nephew, Clinton Ellis. Frank retired from Local Laborer’s Union 809, in Steubenville, OH. He was a partner in Ellis’s Famous Fish and E&L Gunite. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.
