After all the negative publicity regarding the Martins Ferry Police Department, and hopefully, all the corrupt practices have evaporated.

I’d like to express my appreciation for the assistance that a friend and I received from Martins Ferry police officer Beth Scales. In the process of doing her duty, she stopped me for not having come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

While completing the ticket information, I asked if she might be able to help us find a place to live for my friend and her 5 children who were homeless. It was the sincere stance and look of someone who was really and truly interested in helping us solve this problem that so impressed me.

Also, her knowledge of various organizations that might be of help, things I know nothing about, made me feel proud that we have someone of this caliber on our police force.

She did give us a good reference of someone who had a suitable rental, she also finished giving me my ticket.
