Child’s Safety

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to let all of you residents living up on top of W. 36th St. Hill in Shadyside to know that you now have a crosswalk and a school sign at the bottom of the hill. This means, slow down.

I would like to think that when you all see the sign you would get the message, but I know better than that. You think it does not include you, because you are the exception. Sorry, there are no exceptions. Yes, some of you do come down the hill carefully, and I thank you for that. It has to be all of you, and even if you are someone who does not live up there, but you travel this street frequently, this includes you.

It is not hard to come down that hill or any hill slowly, just put your car down in first gear. It will slow you down, and save your breaks.

I am sure none of you want to ever see a tragedy happen, and I know for a fact that I don’t, so before anything happens, please slow down.

I am making these remarks because I do live here very close, and I have seen some of you fly down that hill like you think it is a race track. Well, it’s not, so please be careful.

Thank you all for at least reading this. I hope you all understand where I am coming from. Thank you, Bob Newhart, for all your help.
