Jesus still heals

Dear Editor,

I am here to tell you that there is nothing too impossible for the Lord to do! He is still in the healing business.

On June 7, 2012, I was told that I had stage 4B sinus cancer. That was a day that I will never forget. Six different doctors at UPMC in Pittsburgh told me I was in the final stage of cancer, that there was nothing that they could do for me, that they would call in hospice, make me as comfortable as possible. I was told that I would not see my 47th birthday.

Well, that was six years ago. This past August I turned 53. I am 100 percent cancer free. There is not a trace of cancer in my body. When I have my PET and CT scans done, they cannot even tell where the cancer was located. Let me tell you, this was only the Lord that could do this. See, I had tumors in four different locations; one was in my nose, there was another in my upper nasal cavity, which by the way was attached to the lining of my brain. Another was in the right sinus cavity, and the fourth was on my optic nerve and was the size of a golf ball. I was told that there was a 50/50 chance of going blind. There is now not even any scar tissue where the tumors were located.

This is what only the Lord can do. Well, you may say, “You had radiation.” Yes, I did have a very powerful form of radiation, far above the normal radiation limits. But, when the radiation oncologist tells you that it was nothing he did, but a higher power, that is amazing for him to admit. It is documented in my medical file that my PET and CT scans are impeccable. Look up the word impeccable, which means flawless, unblemished, spotless, immaculate, pristine, stainless, pure, etc.

That day that I was told that I had cancer, I had two choices, I could either lie there, feel sorry for myself and dwell on the cancer and that I was going to die and think everything negative. Or do what I chose to do, and that was to be positive.

My Bible tells me that Jesus heals, that there is nothing too impossible for him to do. Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, (6) In all ways acknowledge him and he will direct thy path. … When we start to go through storms in our life trust him, put your faith in him.

My favorite verse in the Bible is Isaiah 43:2 2: When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

I held on to this verse. It is so true. If you are going through something that seems so impossible, trust the Lord.

I am inviting you to please join me at Apostolic Pentecostal church and see what the Lord can do for you! He can heal, deliver you, set you free, whatever you may need. We will welcome you with open arms.
