Unity?

Dear Editor,

The media and government call for unity.

Unity of what?

Where do I, as a true believer in Jesus Christ and the Bible, have any unity with the proposals that are being put forth by this administration? I’m not angry but I am challenging the Church with this question. “For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).

Unlike those who hate the supporters of Trump, I do not hate you who support Mr. Biden.

Jesus loves you and so do I. Jesus doesn’t want you to die in sin. I don’t either.

In fact, the day Mr. Biden went into the White House as acting President I prayed for him and will continue to pray for him. God has placed him there.

“He deposes kings and raises up others.” (Daniel 2:21)

Is Biden there to allow judgement to come upon us?

Maybe it is to draw the hopeless nearer to the true hope that is Jesus rather than the government of men.

I pray his heart and mind will move away from the evil he proposes that refutes God and His truth. I’ll pray for this every day. I don’t know God’s final plans for this country. All I know is that His plans are perfect and His desires will be done to shape His true church before the rapture. In the meantime, draw strength from the Bible. Pray constantly and in a humble spirit. Share the Gospel of Jesus with others to draw them to God and do not fear the coming of the night. “For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment” ( 2 Timothy 1:7) “As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” (John 9:4)
