Student cell phone use harms education

Dear Editor, As a hometown resident and lifetime reader of The Times Leader, as well as a professional educator of over thirty years, I write to the Times Leader Editor to share my thoughts on the detriment of student cell phone use in our public educational system. I write to inform of the very pressing and growing concern facing our schoolteachers and administrators today regarding the use of cellular telephones in our public schools. Nearly all students are coming to school with cell phones which are causing great distractions to our educational environment. Cell phone use by ...

Trump forfeited his right to presidency

Dear Editor, This nation is founded on the belief that the supreme principles and rule of government are found in one document: The United States Constitution. All who are in government swear an oath to protect, preserve, and defend the Constitution. Everyone in the military swears a sacred oath to the mission to protect, preserve, and defend this organizational defining document. NOT an oath to an individual, a political party, ideology, religion, etc. To our U.S. Constitution. Any individual in order to qualify for the privilege of being a candidate for the Office of ...

More of Trump’s Incoherency

Dear Editor, The recent televised debate between current Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump for the U.S. presidency in the upcoming election which was conducted by ABC News and moderated by David Muir and Lindsey Davis was very revealing indeed, as former President Trump appeared to be overwhelmed, uninformed and incoherent throughout the somewhat lengthy debate. Which was viewed by an exceptionally considerable number of the voting public during which Vice President Harris clearly dominated the ill prepared Mr. Trump with the polling thereafter indicating ...

Rights for long-term care residents

Dear Editor, October is National Long-Term Care Residents’ Rights Month, a time to call attention to the rights of people living in nursing homes and assisted living residences. This is an opportunity to raise awareness of dignity, respect and the rights of each resident. The federal Nursing Home Reform Law guarantees residents’ rights and places a strong emphasis on individual dignity, choice, and self-determination. The law also requires nursing homes to “promote and protect the rights of each resident”. Volunteer advocates are needed to work alongside Ombudsman staff to ...

However, he does not explicitly denote the scriptures identifying Jesus prayers in Jn 17-RSV, Gethsemane—Lk 22:42-44, & on Golgotha—*Lk 23:34, Mt 27:45-46, Jn 19:30 & Lk 23:46 as being essential to becoming the Alpha & Omega incarnate to Satan’s—the Dragon’s—ultimate chagrin.—Lk 24:39, II Cor 5:14-17, Rom 5:1-6, Job 2:4-5, Ps 19:14 It is critical to wisely interpret II Cor 5:21, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we ...

You’re That Guy!

Dear Editor, The other day I was at Krogers in Bellaire doing some shopping when a gentleman commented he liked my Trump/Vance hat. We began discussing politics. He was quite articulate and understood the deeper problems hoisted upon us these last four years and things we saw wrong with the left and democrat party. As the conversation started to end, I asked his name and where he was from. I won’t give either because I don’t know if I have his permission to use it. I gave him mine and he replied, “You’re that guy!” He reads these letters. After I got home I ...
