American freedoms

Dear Editor, The Times Leader has “freedom” of the press. The “freedom” is far from “free.” It was paid for through the times of American history. Starting with rebelling against King George III and the British Empire. But today, we are losing freedom by the hours, and dismantling statues and our history. An example, is we are being told by some elite, far left professors and politicians, that calling our nation “America” is a misnomer. Their argument is “America” is South, Central, Latin and North. Well, we could argue, Canada does not want to be ...

Where’s Greta?

Dear Editor, About on a weekly basis now, the “Times Leader” readers are barraged by liberal idealogues. Ninety-five percent of their rants are “Orange Man bad” with a brief summation that, by default, makes Joe Biden the savior of America and the greatest president ever. Those few contributing hacks reveal that eastern Ohio has an enclave of (Trump Derangement Syndrome) sufferers. I have not been a physican’s assistant for Dr. Fauci, but let me provide some medical advice, and I won’t charge a co-pay: Donald J. Trump has not been the president for two years! ...

Cemetery committee appreciates wreaths

Dear Editor, The Gate of Heaven Cemetery Committee would like to thank Theresa Feisley and family, as well as Lori & Doug Hocking, for donating and placing of wreaths on the veterans’ graves in our cemetery. This is part of the national project of ‘Wreaths Across America.” Theresa and Lori started this project more than 7 years ago at our cemetery. More than 80 wreaths were placed on graves as well at several memorial stones. It is a beautiful sight to see the wreaths honoring the men and women who served our military and our country. We so appreciate this project every ...

Time to make politicians accountable

Dear Editor, At a recent meeting someone brought up some information which sounds very interesting and should be looked at by the Boards of Elections and State or Federal officials. This is pertaining to people running for office as well as those already in office whether Republican or Democrat, Independent, or other Parties. If a person running for an elected office declares his/her Party affiliation, and is raising monies for their campaign it should be his/her responsibility to represent their Party, if elected, or if re-elected as an incumbent. The idea of running for ...

The meaning of words matters

Dear Editor, Recently I saw a sticker in one of the local “teachers unions representatives” rear car window stating: “I love to hate everything that the right-wing loves.” Once you understand the historical origin of the terms “right-wing” and “left-wing” you’ll realize that the statement is nonsensical! How do Fascism and Socialism differ? To answer this, we first need to establish exactly what we mean by the term Fascist! The term is probably one of the most common terms utilized to brand one’s political enemies and has been aggrandized to epic proportion ...

What is best for U.S.

Dear Editor, John Durham, who was appointed approximately three years ago by then-President Donald J. Trump’s attorney general William Barr in an attempt to somehow verify that the F.B.I’s investigation of President Trump and his cohorts regarding their alleged involvement with Russia, respective to the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, was nothing more than a “politically-motivated witch hunt,” as per former president Trump, has recently concluded that as a result of his investigation, “no conspiracy was discovered and, therefore, no indictments of any high level official will ...
