Weir High graduate excited to experience Army-Navy grid game

Tyler Komorowski has experienced it before. Last year, actually. But, the Weir High graduate will get a completely different look at the 117th Army-Navy game Saturday at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. Komorowski — a true freshman — will be in uniform for the Army Cadets when they take the field against the Midshipmen. “I have thought about how cool and surreal it’s going to be,” Komorowski said during a phone interview this week. “To be on that field, taking part in a game that millions of people are watching and means so much to so many people is ...

Tiber finds sweet home in Alabama

FLORENCE, ALA. - Missy Tiber is in her seventh year at the helm of the University of North Alabama women’s basketball team. Moreover, it is also one that Tiber guided her Lions to a sparkling 21-9 mark while advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Basketball ...

That change was approved by a vote of the tournament coaches during a meeting in November. The 7-member committee includes Shenandoah’s Jesse Wells (Class 1A/2A), Barnesville’s Jayson Stephen (Class 3A), Oak Glen’s Patrick McGillian (Class 4A) and ...

The current campaign is another Benner-directed success story. Her Cardinals are an impressive 31-3 and still counting. In the process, the Redbirds have won their seventh straight Mountain East regular season and tournament championships. Thus, Wheeling University has earned the right to host the NCAA D-II Atlantic Regional. The top-seeded Cardinals face Fayetteville State Thursday in their opening test at the McDonough Center. The MEC ...
