Barnesville, Shadyside post volleyball sweeps; River prevails

BELLAIRE — Invading Barnesville made quick work of the Big Reds, posting a sweep by scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-14 to get to 4-0 on the prep volleyball season.

Leading the way for the Shamrocks was Mindi Wehr, who had 12 kills and six digs, while Rylee Stephens was charted for nine kills, two blocks and two digs. Lindsay Burkhart had 13 points and eight digs. Savanna Finnical had 17 assists.

Natalie Soner and Michaela Flaherty recorded eight and six digs, respectively, for Bellaire.

Shadyside sweeps

Harrison

SHADYSIDE — The homestanding Tigers quickly dispatched Harrison Central, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-9.

The Tigers were led by an impressive performance from Riley Brown, who had 11 points, three aces, 17 kills and four blocks. Macy Coffland added six points and seven kills. Haley Esposito had 13 digs and Haleigh Osman added 11 digs.

Senior Jillian Joseph contributed five kills and 10 digs, while Madison Davis had 22 assists, 10 digs and three kills.

Baylee Wach had 10 assists.

Harrison Central was led by Kobey Johnson’s four kills. Shae Saffell had 11 digs and Audrey Corder added five points.

River tops

Monroe Central Central

HANNIBAL — Allison Bennett scored six points and had five kills, 26 assists and 10 digs helping River down Monroe Central 25-22, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23.

Katie Straub added 15 points , six kills and 12 digs for the Pilots.

Macey Ladyga scored eight points and had 14 digs, Lauren Flannery had seven points, 12 kills and 17 digs, and Cortny Sapp had 11 kills.Kasi

Kristen Friday had 10 points, 13 digs and six kills for the Seminoles (0-2).

Rymie Bishop had nine points and six kills, Sydney Yoho had 33 digs and Jocelyn LeMasters had 13 digs.

Conotton Valley downs St. John

BELLAIRE — Emily Siedel had 14 digs to help Conotton Valley defeat St. John 25-15, 17-25, 25-14, 25-11.

Elizabeth Schnegg had 16 digs for the Irish (0-2). Shaylyn Horvath and Kasi Gillespie both scored eight points.

Edison defeats Monroe Central

RICHMOND — Carter Montgomery scored 3 goals and recorded an assists as Edison rolled past Monroe Central, 8-2.
