Magnolia Blue Eagles downs John Marshall

MOUNDSVILLE — Magnolia bounced back from a season-opening setback to Wheeling Central with a 55-29 drubbing of host John Marshall Tuesday night in boys’ basketball action inside the John Marshall Fieldhouse.

Hayden Pyles netted 12 points for the Blue Eagles (1-1). Brady Kocher and Kingston Christian had 11 each and Hunter Oates added 10.

Brady Williams led John Marshall (0-2) with seven.

Clay-Battelle 69, Cameron 43

BLACKSVILLE — Lance Hartley scored 13 points and Colson Wichterman added 12 but the Dragons fell on the road to the Cee-Bees. Cuyler McCauley chipped in 10.

Linsly 57, Austintown-Fitch 47

AUSTINTOWN — Will Taylor led the Cadets with 17 points in their road win over the Falcons.

Naseef Lubowa added 14.

Barnesville 55, River 28

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks received 12 points from Duker Castello and Braeden Willis added 11.

Finn Bowers had a dozen points for the Pilots (1-1), one more than Kabel Isaly.

Valley 58, Beallsville 24

PINE GROVE — Trevor Stackpole scorched the nets for 24 points and Gavin Derby finished with 16 as the Lumberjacks chopped down the visiting Blue Devils.

Dylan Saffell and Ayson McBride had six each for Beallsville.

Monroe Central 62,

Shadyside 29

SHADYSIDE — The visiting Seminoles rolled by the Tigers inside the Tigers Den.

Cooper Howell led Monroe Central with 14 points and Caedyn Silva added 10. Tucker Howell and Chance Allen evenly divided 18.

Dylan Booth had nine and Ben Wach eight for the Tigers.

Edison 55, Indian Creek 43

WINTERSVILLE — The Wildcats held off the host Redskins on Coach ‘D’ Court for a cherished road win.

Edison led by 17 entering the fourth quarter, but Indian Creek cut the deficit to four but could not get any closer.

Bryce Rogers had a game-high 18 points for the winners. JD Henderson added 16.

Drake Freshwater scored 12 points for the Redskins. Caleb Bodo finished with 11.

Wood Co. Christian 53,

Hundred 47

HUNDRED — Colt Sandy pumped in 24 points but the Hornets fell to the visiting Lions.

Davis Powers Wheeling Park By Weir

WHEELING — Zac Davis rolled games of 267 and 208 for a 446 series as the Patriots stormed past the Red Riders, 2,284 to 2,009 at Dirty Dog Lanes

Kaden Miller added a 279 game and 446 series.

Weir was led by Jackson Parsons with games of 224 and 214 for a 438 series.

Shane Arnold had a 217 game and a 390 series.

Brooke Splits With Beaver Local

Boys

WELLSBURG — The Bruins cruised past the Beavers by a 2,057 to 1,576 count at Brooke Lanes.

Dakota McMillan rolled a 226 game and a 406 series.

Girls

Tegan Williams had a 182 game and a 340 series but the Bruins fell to the Beavers, 1,328 to 1,110.

Oak Glen Boys, Steubenville Girls Win

Boys

STEUBENVILLE — Noah Wright won the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke as the Golden Bears defeated Weir (79-50) and Steubenville (82-11) at the Big Red Natatorium inside the Crimson Center.

The Red Riders’ Ryan Owen won the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle.

Girls

Steubenville went 3-0 as it topped Weir (179-75), St. John Central Academy (196-26) and Oak Glen (199-25).

Reagan Murison won the 200 IM and the 500 Freestyle while also swimming a leg on the 200 Freestyle Relay.
