Fulton leads Shadyside Lady Tigers to a 16-8 victory

SHADYSIDE — Taylor Fulton was a two-sided thorn in the side of Rosecrans Tuesday night in Ohio Division IV sectional softball tournament action at the Meade Township Park in leading No. 6 Shadyside to a 16-8 victory.

The Tigers senior picked up the win inside the circle with four innings of work, striking out five and walking three. However, she did her most damage at the plate where she missed hitting for the cycle by a double, driving in five.

Macy Hendershot (single, double), Araianna Saxton (single) and Alli Weatherson (single) all drove in two runs. Josie Greenwood doubled, tripled and knocked in a run.

River 2, 5 inn

SARDIS — The eighth-seeded Seminoles eliminated the No. 7 Pilots as Jadyn Miller drove in three runs with a single and a pair of doubles. Jauna McElroy also had three ribbies with a single and double. Shyann Baker singled thrice and also accounted for three runs. Brooklyn Grubb and winning pitcher Kazziah Cecil evenly divided four singles.

Reese Hobbs singled, doubled and knocked in both River runs.

Edison 12, Claymont 2

UHRICHSVILLE — The Wildcats breezed by the Mustangs in five innings Tuesday.

Evan Kimmerle and Kyle Long each had three RBI, Kimmerle homering and Long knocking two doubles. Cole Pittman and Kayden Russell each had two ribbies.

Cash Meadows pitched all five to secure the win for Edison.
