MORRISTOWN – Visiting Monroe Central tallied three times in the top of the seventh and then held off a late rally by Union Local in the bottom of the inning for a 10-9 high school baseball victory on Saturday.

Max Demchak earned the win in relief with one K and a walk. He also tripled in two runs, while Caleb Griffith singled in a pair. Landen Lydick had two one-base raps.

Logan Hess drove in four runs with three singles for the Jets. Peyton Causby, Hayden Jenkins and Braylen Akers all singled in runs.

SOFTBALL

Toronto 11, Shadyside 4

SHADYSIDE – The visiting Red Knights broke open a 3-2 game with six runs in the top of the fifth inning in defeating the Tigers.

Isabella Cattrell knocked in four runs with a pair of singles for Toronto. Ashton Thomas belted a twor-un homer and Callie Anderson and Michelle Anderson evenly divided four RBI, with Callie having a single and double.

Taylor Fulton doubled twice and drove in two runs for Shadyside. Kara Zeroski drove in a run with two singles and Abby Gorrell singled and doubled.
