He was born on September 12, 1940, in Neffs, Ohio to the late Paul and Edna Mehl.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by, a daughter, Cathy Mehl.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Mehl; sons, Chuck Jr. (Annette), Gary (Diana) and Chad Mehl; his 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler (Kelsey), Sarah, Christa, Carissa, Aryeh, Alexsandra, Jeremiah, Kari, Sydney and Josie; 4 great-grandchildren, Aria, Ezra, Aiden and Arlo; and a sister, Edna-Pauline Dunfee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 2-4 & 5-7 at Clark-Kirkland- Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Dixie McHugh and Bill Mehl officiating at Clark-Kirklan- Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Harrisville, Ohio.
