Steubenville places 3 on Ohio Division III first team

COLUMBUS — A trio of players that helped Steubenville overcome an 0-2 start en route to an Ohio Division III state playoff berth were recognized with first-team laurels Wednesday when the all-Ohio teams were announced by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association.

Information used for the all-Ohio teams comes from the regular-season accomplishments and does not include playoff games. The seven districts of the OPSMA determine the all-district teams and nominate their best for the All-Ohio teams.

Big Red seniors Ca’Juan Bryant, Ephy Kelly and Cole Bowers were selected to the top team as a running back, offensive lineman and placekicker, respectively.

Bryant, who missed the first two games due to disciplinary reasons, ran for nearly 1,000 yards, while Kelly was a key reason why. Bowers, who has signed to attend the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., was a steady force all season.

Senior linebacker Landon Crosier earned second status.
