WHEELING – Special teams are always a huge part of a football game, no matter what level is being played. Saturday night’s 80th annual OVAC Rudy Mumley All Star Football Game is no exception. Both Ohio head coach Brett McLean of St. Clairsville and his West Virginia counterpart, Chris Daugherty of Wheeling Park, both know how important an extra-point, field goal or punt could be in the final outcome. MARIETTA – Matheson King’s Baltimore chop over the second baseman allowed St. Clairsville Post 159 to rally for a 4-3 walk-off victory over Beverly/Lowell Post 389/750 in a Region 4 American Legion Tournament winner’s bracket semifinal Wednesday at Marietta College’s Pioneer Park. St. Clairsville Rolls Past Steubenville

MARIETTA – St. Clairsville Post 159 opened American Legion Region 4 Tournament action with a convincing, 12-1, victory over Steubenville Post 33 Tuesday night at Pioneer Park on the campus of Marietta College. The contest was halted after four-and-a-half innings due to the mercy rule. With the victory, Post 159 advances to Wednesday’s semifinal against Beverly-Lowell at 4 p.m. in the double-elimination event.
