BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

At 12:34 a.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on National Road in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for failure to signal within 100 feet and for impeding traffic.

At 8:25 p.m. Feb. 19, an officer on a traffic stop on Driggs Lane issued a warning to a motorist for improper passing.

At 6:17 p.m. Feb. 19, a complainant from Morristown-Flushing Road reported a truck and box trailer stolen between the previous Wednesday and early Thursday from Mt. Hope Road in Lafferty. A deputy responded to take information for a report.

At 2:56 p.m. Monday, a caller from Clark Avenue Extension in St. Clairsville reported that someone in the Walmart parking lot threatened to shoot him after he flipped him off. Deputies checked the area and met with the complainant.

At 3:39 p.m. Monday, a resident of Fox Run Hospital, Traco Drive, St. Clairsville, claimed that a staff member was aggressive with them on Feb. 15, and it was reported on Feb. 16 to them. The staff member was let go that day, according to the report. The sheriff’s office was to obtain a video of the incident, the report indicated.

At 3:26 p.m. Monday, a sergeant responded to a request for a welfare check on a man at an address on Ogilbee Road, Jacobsburg. The officer did not locate the man. His mother later reported that he and his girlfriend took the dog and fled the area, according to the report. She was not sure where they went.

At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, an officer reported that he hit a deer on Colerain-Mt. Pleasant Road, Colerain, denting the bumper and the hood. A crash report was obtained from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At 4:13 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from North Market Street in St. Clairsville reported that someone dumped tires on her wood pile.

At 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported theft over several weeks from her mother’s residence on Coleman Road, Midway. A deputy took information for a theft report.

At 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant transported a prisoner from the Belmont County Courts on National Road East, St. Clairsville, to the Belmont County Jail.

At 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Gas Station-Shippey Road, Lafferty, reported his grandfather who has dementia is threatening him. He has done this before, according to the report. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. There was no evidence of the claims made by the caller, according to the report.

At 9:04 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Barnesville-Bethesda Road, Barnesville, reported there was an injured deer that needed to be put down. An officer responded but could not locate the deer, the report stated.

At 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, a sergeant requested an emergency medical service squad for an inmate. The prisoner was escorted to Barnesville Hospital and then released.
