SUNDAY, MARCH 24, Easter with Friends – Palm Sunday, Pastor Aaron Szloboda will be sharing from the Gospel of Luke at the 8:15 a.m. traditional service, 9:30 a.m. contemporary service, and the 11 a.m. blended service at East Richland Friends Church, 67885 Friends Church Road, St. Clairsville. SHADYSIDE COMMUNITY Fellowship of Churches will be having a Good Friday service at the Shadyside Community Building at noon March 29. All are welcome.

ON MARCH 28, a Maundy Thursday service will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Ickes Family Life Center at East Richland Friends Church, 67885 Friends Church Road, St. Clairsville. A meal will be served; registration required at erfriends.com.

A BIG fish fry will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Wayman Church, 1136 Eoff St., Wheeling. Meals and sandwiches featuring Coleman’s Canadian white fish will be available, along with fries and coleslaw.

A GOOD Friday Service and Communion will be held at noon March 29 in the sanctuary at East Richland Friends Church, 67885 Friends Church Road, St. Clairsville. Everyone is welcome. At 6 p.m., there will be a Good Friday Drama & Communion in the Sanctuary.

THE BELLAIRE Clergy Association will hold its annual Cross Walk on Good Friday, March 29, in downtown Bellaire. The walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the gazebo in Bellaire City Park. Walkers sing hymns and take turns carrying a wooden cross, stopping at various downtown locations to read the Passion Story from the Bible and to pray.

A NO-QUARTER Auction Fundraiser to benefit Webark Estates will be held March 23 at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Sherrard, Wheeling. Gift baskets, a 50/50 and an auction, pizza, desserts, fun, games and prizes will be featured, along with a salad luncheon catered by Nancy Z’s Catering. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the event begins at noon. Proceeds benefit Webark’s spay/neuter clinic in Wheeling. For information, call 304-639-4300.

ST. JOHN United Church-Christ on German Ridge Road, Powhatan Point, is hosting a fish fry from 4-7 p.m. each Friday through March 22. Eat in or take out. For information, call 740-458-1756.

SONS OF Italy will be holding its annual fish fry every Friday during Lent, including Good Friday, March 29. Fish sandwiches will be available along with side dishes, including cabbage and noodles, french fries, onion rings and coleslaw. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

LENTEN FISH frys are being held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4136 Jacob St., Wheeling, every Friday during Lent through March 22. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eat-in service is available. For carryout orders, call 304-232-1777. There will be no fish fry on Good Friday, March 29.

BRILLIANT AMERICAN Legion has resumed weekly fish fries for the Lenten season. Fish fry season will run through March 29. The menu includes a choice of Coleman’s fish, chicken planks, shrimp, wing dings or fish nuggets. All of the above can be bought as dinners or smaller portion baskets. Dinners come with bread, french fries and coleslaw. Onion rings can be substituted for an additional $1. Other menu items include french fries, onion rings, hush puppies, mozzarella sticks and hot or mild cheese balls. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Orders can be called in to 740-598-3515. The legion is located at 210 Market St., Brilliant. Limited delivery will be available. Check the legion’s Facebook page at “The Brilliant American Legion Post 573” for the menu.

MARTINS FERRY Knights of Columbus will hold a Lenten fish fry at the council home, 25 N. Fourth St., each Friday of Lent from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until the fish is sold out. Eat-in or takeout orders are available. Menu includes Coleman’s fish dinner or sandwich, onion rings, french fries, cole slaw, pop, tea, water. Call 740-633-0528 early for afternoon orders.

SHADYSIDE ST. Mary Church will host weekly Canadian whiting fish frys during Lent from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through March 22. Eat in or carry out. Call ahead to order at 740-340-5061.
