MOUNDSVILLE-MARSHALL County Public Library will host the Pittsburgh Puppet Works on at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a special National Library Week performance. This professional puppet troupe will entertain children with the show “Inky’s Library Mystery,” aimed at 3- to 8-year-olds. In this new show, Inky the Cat and Albert the Dog are on a thrilling adventure as they attempt to solve the Mystery of the Purrrsburg Library. This event is sponsored by the Robert Baker Family. SUNDAY, APRIL 14, Pastor Aaron Szloboda will be sharing from the Gospel of Luke at the 8 a.m. traditional service and 9:45 and 11:15 a.m. contemporary services at East Richland Friends Church, 67885 Friends Church Road, St. Clairsville. Nursery care is provided for newborns to 3 years during all three services and classes for children 4 years to grade six during the 9:45 and 11:15 a.m. hours. JERRY’S WALK — Illuminating Suicide Awareness, will be hosting its eighth annual walk on April 28 at the St. Clairsville-Richland Township Memorial Park, 200 Walnut Ave., St. Clairsville. You can register for the walk at jerryswalk.org. Day of the walk check-in begins at 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Shelter. The walk will begin at 3 p.m. There is no registration fee for military veterans or children under the age of 12. A DEMONSTRATION of Italian Cooking Italy’s Regional Recipes will begin at 2 p.m. April 14 at the Sons and Daughters of Italy Uguaglianza Lodge 754, located at 3348 Belmont St., Bellaire. GRIEFSHARE GRIEF recovery seminar and support care will meet at NewBridge Church, a Vineyard Church, 647 Warden Run Road, Wheeling. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Sessions include “Is This Normal?”, “Why?” and “The Challenges of Grief.” The sessions continue until May. THE BELMONT Soil and Water Conservation District will host a series of Half Acre Homesteading classes to teach anyone how to utilize the space and resources available to them to become more self-sustainable. THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling pumpkin seeds from past King Pumpkins. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are $100 each. Last year’s King Pumpkin was grown by Erik Gunstrom of Harrison City, Pennsylvania, and was the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival’s largest pumpkin ever. It set a Pennsylvania state record at 2,405 pounds. Seeds from the 2023 King Pumpkin are $20 each or three for $50. This year’s winner weighed in at 1,950 pounds and was grown by Bill Neptune of New Concord, Ohio. THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room. The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion.
