At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on National Road in Bridgeport issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for speeding and for driving with expired tags.

At 11:08 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a man and woman were screaming and running around the library at East 44th Street in Shadyside. One man was taken to jail for resisting arrest and for being drunk and disorderly, according to the report.

At 8:59 p.m. Wednesday, an officer went to an address on Cherrywood Drive in Morristown in search of a vehicle reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident on the Fort Henry Bridge. The deputy did not locate the vehicle in question there.

At 7:26 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from West Rustic Drive in St. Clairsville reported an online scam involving payments to a rental property via PayPal. The complainant was getting information together for a report to her bank.

At 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to Main Street in Belmont with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to investigate a traffic complaint.

At 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, units responded to a report of an active domestic situation at an address on West Echo Road in Bellaire. Units determined that this was not a domestic violence situation – it was just two kids arguing with each other, the report stated. The father confirmed that nothing happened, officers said.

At 12:36 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Riesbeck’s Food Market on National Road in Bridgeport. A man reportedly took more than $100 worth of various items. Charges were pending for the man, who was advised he would also face trespassing charges if he returned to the store, the report indicated.

At 11:29 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to the Bel-Capri Apartments in Bellaire for a report of an internet scam involving theft of Social Security checks and information.

At 8:23 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported there was a suspicious man in a parking lot on National Road in Bridgeport with several bags. The man was talking to himself and appeared to be “on something,” according to the report. The store manager just wanted him to be gone by the time the store opened. A deputy arrived and spoke with the man, who said he understood, the officer reported.
