HARRISON COUNTY Catholic Women’s Club will hold its 23rd Annual Used Christmas Items Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 1 and 8 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 2 and 9. The sale will take place in the church hall of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hopedale.

BRILLIANT UNITED Methodist Church will hold its Election Day Lunch Soup and Sandwich Sale on Nov. 5 at 525 LaBelle St., Brilliant.

NEFFS AMERICAN Legion’s biannual quarter auction starts at 5 p.m. Oct. 19. Refreshments and a 50/50 raffle will be available. All proceeds benefit American Legion Post 77.
A HALLOWEEN lights show animated to music is available 7-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 7-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in October at Posocco Drive in St. Clairsville.
BRILLIANT AMERICAN Legion has resumed its weekly fish frys every Friday until Nov. 22. After a break for the holidays, the fish frys will resume on Feb. 21 and run through April 18. The menu includes a choice of Coleman’s fish, chicken planks, shrimp, wing dings or fish nuggets. All of the above can be bought as dinners or smaller portion baskets. Dinners come with bread, french fries and coleslaw. Onion rings can be substituted for an additional $1. Other menu items include hush puppies, mozzarella sticks and hot or mild cheese balls. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Orders can be called in to 740-598-3515. The legion is located at 210 Market St., Brilliant. Limited delivery will be available.
THE 18TH Annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Drive will take place Oct. 1- Nov. 30. Non-perishable items will be accepted and will be distributed to local agencies. THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling pumpkin seeds from past King Pumpkins. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are $100 each. Last year’s King Pumpkin was grown by Erik Gunstrom of Harrison City, Pennsylvania, and was the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival’s largest pumpkin ever. It set a Pennsylvania state record at 2,405 pounds.
Seeds from the 2023 King Pumpkin are $20 each or three for $50. This year’s winner weighed in at 1,950 pounds and was grown by Bill Neptune of New Concord, Ohio. For more information or to purchase seeds, contact Madyson Little at 740-238-0217 or mlittle2001@gmail.com.
THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room.
The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion. For more information, call 740-676-2136.
