MARTINS FERRY Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry at the council home, 25 N. Fourth St., on Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until the fish is sold out. THE CASTLE in Marietta, Ohio, will be presenting “The Castle’s School of Magic & Wizardry” on March 1. The first-year student session is from 10 a.m. to noon with an advanced student session from 2-4 p.m. Those interested in honing their magical abilities and knowledge of magical history can enroll now. Students will be divided into three houses and will have the chance to attend three classes. Care of Magical Creatures, History of Magic and Astronomy will be taught by three of the school’s renowned professors. Snacks and opportunities for faculty and students to mingle will be provided before classes begin and after school has concluded. THE ST. C Singers will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, complete with a show, from 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Clairsville High School cafeteria and auditorium. Tickets can be purchased from any St. C. SIngers member or at the door.
BARNESVILLE AREA Chamber of Commerce is hosting a centerpiece contest for its spring banquet. Participants should create a centerpiece to be displayed on banquet tables using any colors from the Donate Life Month logo. Centerpieces must be no more than 20 inches tall and 20 inches wide. Centerpieces must be ready for display by April 4. They will be auctioned after the banquet (not returned to their creators), and all proceeds benefit the Fun in the Ville events this summer.
SONS OF Italy Uguaglianza Lodge 754 hosts a dance night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the lodge, located at 3348 Belmont St., Bellaire.
SPRING BASKET Bingo will begin at 1 p.m. April 13 at the New Athens Firehall. Doors open at noon.

THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling seeds from its King Pumpkin winners from 2022, 2023 and 2024. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are available for $50 each through Dec. 31. For the 2023 champion, seeds cost $20 each or $50 for three. Seeds from the 2024 King Pumpkin are $30 apiece or $100 for a set of four. THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room. The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion.
