Wally and Kelly McCabe of St. Clairsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth, to Douglas William Sands, son of William and Sherry Sands of Zanesville.

The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a 2012 graduate of Otterbein University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed at the Gahanna-Jefferson School District as a 5th grade teacher.

Her fiance is a 2007 graduate of Maysville High School and a 2011 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is employed with Chase Bank as a check-fraud analyst.

An Aug. 2 wedding is planned.
