Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey A. Vannest of St. Clairsville announce the engagement of their only daughter, Tessa Lynn Vannest, to Michael Patrick Corcoran, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Corcoran of Marietta, Ohio.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of John and the late Doris Vannest and the late Sam Mumley and Bea Mumley, all of St. Clairsville. She graduated from St. Clairsville High School, obtained her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University and earned her master’s degree from Muskingum University. She is employed at Old Bridge Elementary School, Woodbridge, Va., where she is a first grade teacher.

Her fiance is a graduate of Marietta High School and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He is employed as the on site support technician at McGuire Woods Law Firm, Tysons Corner, Va.

A July 5 wedding is planned in St. Clairsville.
