The engagement of Abigail Elizabeth Kelly, daughter of Kathryn D. Kelly of Parkersburg and the late Robert A. Kelly, to Richard Andrew Crummitt, son of Michael and Sherry Crummitt of Martins Ferry, is announced by the bride’s mother.

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a graduate of West Virginia University, magna cum laude. She obtained a master’s degree in nursing in 2014 and is completing requirements to become a family nurse practitioner. She is a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Wheeling Hospital.

Her fiance is a 2007 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 2012 graduate of West Liberty University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and marketing. He joined Crummitt & Son Burial Vault Corp., their family business, in Martins Ferry after graduation.

An Oct. 18 wedding is planned in Wheeling.
