Ken and Pam Knox of St. Clairsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Elizabeth, to Christopher Dale, son of Chris and Cheryl Beall of Martins Ferry.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of St. Clairsville High School. She earned a degree in early childhood education from Ohio University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree from Bowling Green State University. She is employed with Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland.

Her fiance is a graduate of Martins Ferry High School. He earned a degree in power plant technology from Youngstown State University and is currently employed with NRG Energy in Dickerson, Md.

A May 30 wedding is planned in St. Clairsville.
