David and Cathy Smith of Flushing announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Smith, to Eric Francis, son of Roger and Beth Francis of St.Clairsville.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Union Local High School and a 2012 graduate of Belmont Technical College with an associate’s degree in mental health technology. She also received a bachelor’s degree in child and family studies from Ohio University in 2014. She is employed as a receptionist at Tri-County Help Center and as a server at Food By Jane.

Her fiance is a 2006 graduate of St.Clairsville High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in middle level education. He also received a master’s degree in counseling from Ohio University in 2013. He is employed as a school guidance counselor at Wheeling Park High School.

A June 27 wedding is planned.
