Jennifer Lynn DeBoer, daughter of Mark DeBoer and Cathy DeBoer of Modesto, Calif., is engaged to marry Kurt Ray Stalnaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stalnaker of Flushing.

The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Escalon High School, a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a graduate of Humboldt State University with a masters of Business Administration in Sustainability.

She is currently studying for her Ph.D. in Business Sustainability and Forestry in Vancouver, Canada.

Her fiance is a 1996 graduate of Union Local High School with a bachelor of science in Communications from Ohio University in 2001. Kurt is employed by National Public Radio as an audio engineer in Washington, D.C. A nature-inspired wedding is being planned.
