Kevin and Linda Trotter of Falls, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, April Lee Trotter, to Kyle Nathan Hanlin, son of Chuck and Theresa Hanlin of Lewis Center, Ohio.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School and 2007 graduate of Penn State University, with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. She received a master of science degree in communications studies from Shippensburg University in 2012. She is employed by Lockheed Martin as a senior project manager and writer/editor supporting the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Her fiance is a 2003 graduate of St. John Central High School and a 2007 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., with a bachelor of science degree in Applied Meteorology. He is employed as an air traffic controller at Potomac Consolidated TRACON.

The couple resides in Fairfax, Va., with their cat, Murphy. An October 2016 wedding is planned in Key West, Fla.
