Three arrested on drug charges
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Criminal Interdiction Unit arrested three people Thursday for alleged drug offenses.
The arrests were the result of a traffic stop on Ohio 7 near Belmont County Road 4.
According to the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department, K-9 Copper was deployed and detected an odor of narcotics. Deputies performed a search and located methamphetamines, pills and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
As a result, Leslie Hancher-Palmer, 30, of Rayland was arrested on charges of possession of and trafficking in drugs, as well as illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention center. David Hancher-Palmer, 32, of Rayland was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Christopher Richards, 40, of Dillonvale, was arrested on a felony fugitive from justice warrant for breaking and entering and for a possession of drugs charge from Thursday.
All three were in the Belmont County Jail on Friday.
