Bridgeport Exempted Village School District sets registration dates

BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Exempted Village School District has announced dates for kindergarten and preschool registration for the 2021-22 school year.

Kindergarten registration is set for 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 3. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2021, to enroll. Preschool registration will be held noon to 3 p.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. March 4.

Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 1, 2021, to participate. Parents and guardians are asked to complete an online enrollment form for their child before the registration dates.

Space is limited for preschool classes, so register early.

To register online, go to bridgeportschools.net and click on the “Enroll” tab at the top of the page. Then click on the Online Registration link to the right. Log in if you already have children enrolled at Bridgeport Schools. If you forgot your password, click on “Lost Password?” You may also create a new account if you do not currently have children enrolled in school.

Use an email address you check daily. Click on “Enroll New Student(s)” and complete the form, then click “Save and Submit to District.”

During kindergarten registration, parents and guardians must provide an official birth certificate (not a copy); a copy of the immunization record; custody papers in case of a divorce or legal separation (decree if applicable); photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card or passport); and proof of residency, such as a current utility bill or rent receipt. For the preschool registration, the following information must be provided: an email address; official birth certificate (not a copy); a copy of the child’s immunization record; names, addresses and phone numbers of two emergency contacts; proof of residency (utility bill or driver’s license); a copy of the child’s most recent physical; custody papers in the case of divorce or legal separation (decree if applicable); and 2020 tax information for tuition purposes or state-issued medical card.

Registration cannot be completed without this information.

Upon arrival, sign in at the elementary school office. Masks are required and all CDC guidelines will be followed.

Children being enrolled in kindergarten need not attend the registration and adults will be given an appointment time to bring their child for kindergarten screening.

For further information, contact the elementary school office at 740-635-0853, Option 2, or Preschool Director Brooke Syrylo at Ext. 1800.
