Hospice of Guernsey to host fourth annual Legacy Ride on Aug. 12

CAMBRIDGE — What can be better than taking a relaxing ride through beautiful countryside?

Doing that and supporting a wonderful cause at the same time.

This is why Hospice of Guernsey Inc. will be hosting the fourth annual Legacy Ride on Aug. 12 at Kennonsburg Church, Salesville, Ohio.

Hospice of Guernsey’s focus is caring for local patients and providing support for their families and loved ones. With costs rising and the number of people who need such services increasing, fundraisers such as the Legacy Ride are essential.

In the last few years, this event has raised close to $7,000. Continued support of fundraisers is instrumental to the success of the agency’s mission.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at Kennonsburg Church, located at 57599 Kennonsburg Road, Sarahsville, Ohio. The event is open to anyone whether you drive or ride. New this year will be the incorporation of a “fun” poker run activity with an opportunity to win a prize. There will also be a variety of items up for silent auction. A blessing over participants and kickstands will go up at 10 a.m. Once participants return from the ride, concessions will be available.

Pre-registration prior to July 31 will guarantee an event T-shirt.

There will also be shirts available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a cost to participate.

There are a few ways to register for the event. Visit the Hospice of Guernsey office, located at 9711 East Pike, Cambridge, Ohio, to pick up forms or contact Stephanie Pfalzgraf at 740-432-7440 or email stephanie@hospiceofguernsey.com.

The hospice staff would like to thank current sponsors: Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Guernsey Power Station, Braden Med Services, W.B. Green & Company Inc. and Farmers & Merchants Bank.
