BRIDGEPORT — Sonny Boy Family Restaurant will reopen its doors at 7 a.m. on Sunday. The restaurant closed on Feb. 18 for renovations.

Most of the renovations took place in the kitchen and dish room.

“We replaced the floors, took everything out and cleaned everything from top to bottom, rearranged and restocked the whole freezer and refrigerator. We also changed some things in the front area…we brightened up the front by adding lighter colors, a few new lights, new cabinets, new and improved register counter and a new back counter. We also removed the blinds, added new valances, removed a few booths, added a few more tables and chairs and super deep-cleaned the whole place,” owner Melissa Freeman Starkey said.

Renovations are still in progress.

“Please be patient with us, as we aren’t fully finished with this huge project but we missed everyone so much that we decided to re-open now and will continue to work on upgrades a little at a time,” Starkey said.
