West Alexander Fair offers something for everyone
WEST ALEXANDER, Pa. — The West Alexander Fair calls itself “the week the world stops,” but there will be plenty of action at the fairgrounds Sept. 1-6.
From livestock shows to rides to concerts to demolition derbys, it will have something for everyone for the week.
The week begins Sept. 1 with a pair of performances by Rafter M Rodeo, one at 1 p.m. with the nightcap at 7 p.m. The 2025 West Alexander Fair Queen contest also will be held that day at 6 p.m. On Sept. 2, the marquee event is a demolition derby that begins at 7 p.m.
A demolition derby returns as the main event at 7 p.m. Sept. 3. On Sept. 4, the fair features Arena Cross, with quads and motocross racing, at 7:30 p.m.
There will be a truck pull at 7 p.m. Sept. 5, and the real fireworks begin … literally … with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.
There will be a tractor pull at 2 p.m. Sept. 6, and the fair concludes at 8 p.m. that day with the Farmers Olympics. Shaw and Sons Amusements will provide the carnival rides and skill booths. They’ll open at noon Monday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
Animal judging will happen throughout the week, including goats, swine, beef, lamb, sheep and dairy cows, with an animal sale scheduled for 11 a.m. Sept. 6.
