31st Annual Barton Polkafest returns in August

BARTON — Polka music will fill the air once again in Barton.

The Barton Volunteer Fire Department will hold the 31st Annual Barton Polkafest on Aug. 3 at the Firemen’s Field at 52176 Barton-Blaine Road in Barton (for GPS use St. Clairsville). In keeping with tradition, this festival will offer you barbecue chicken, cabbage roll dinners, Polish platters, other homemade Polish foods, desserts, cash bar, raffles, European folk art, Vino di Piccin wine slushies, shuttle service and Ice Cream Island Food truck on site. Barton Polkafest T-shirts will be sold.

No BYOB or coolers permitted.

The event is held rain or shine. Gates open at 11 a.m. with non-stop music from noon to 8 p.m. with three of the most requested polka bands around. Traveling from Buffalo, New York, will be the band “Seven.” Another crowd favorite from Canada will be “John Gora and Gorale.” And back by popular demand, “Polka Family” will be here from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

Admission is free. The event takes place under a covered pavilion with a dance floor. A handicapped accessible bathroom facility is on site. Carryout parking and food are available. A boot will be out for donations. All proceeds will benefit the building of a new fire station.

The Blaine Hill Bridge viaduct on U.S. 40 in Blaine is closed, so please use alternate routes or call for directions. For more information, call 740-695-3029. Come out and join us for good food, good music and good friends!
