BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT At 10:57 p.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with a suspicious male on Neffs Road near the Dollar General on Pike Street. One male was detained and taken to jail. MARIETTA, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Development, Buckeye Hills Regional Council and Southeast Ohio’s Community Action Agencies want to remind older Ohioans that assistance is available to help with their home energy bills. Applied directly to the customer’s utility or bulk fuel bill, the benefit can help manage heating costs. Older Ohioans can go to their local Area Agency on Aging office for help with assembling the required documents and completing their HEAP application. BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from Overlook Court in Bellaire came to the station to report a Walmart account and several other accounts had been hacked. Credit cards were used. Her daughter’s credit cards were attached to her account, and they were used, as well. A deputy took a written statement and information for a theft report.
